DESCRIPTION:
National Black Cat Day falls on October 27 each year. This event highlights the beauty of black cats, and their contribution to family. It is a fundraising campaign to encourage pet adoption, but most specifically of black cats.
Over the past decade the number of black cats being abandoned and turned into shelters has gone up by 70%. This is due to superstition, making black cats less adoptable. Today is about celebrating black cats in the United Kingdom and find homes for these deserving animals.
